Scrubber
A Scrubber is a wet type gas cleaning scrubber that removes soluble chemicals, fumes, and odors. Contaminated gas flows through a specially designed packing media that is wetted with re-circulated liquid. The liquid solvent absorbs the gas pollutant by physical or chemical means. A blowdown from the tank with makeup water addition removes contaminant products before they precipitate.

Gas scrubbers neutralize harmful components in industrial air or flue gas streams (for example to prevent odour nuisance or irritation causing fumes from escaping).
A gas scrubber is a cleaning installation inside of which a gas flow gets into intense contact with a fluid. Because of this contact between fluid and gas, certain gaseous components dissolve and remain in the water. Gas scrubbers are often used as an emission limiting technique.
